RE: timing is everything..

Consider having a DIY built by a cabinet maker. The value for money can be incredible and you get the custom finish you want! I spent roughly $150 once to refinish a couple of speaker boxes with some veneer I bought (beautiful walnut burl) and the end result was spectacular.

I'm about to do the same thing to my Horneshoppe Horns. Losing the plain old oak veneer for something spectacular.
