Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

RE: Speakers are upstairs....

I have found that spiked speakers on a suspended floor with shag carpeting were not a Good Thing. It introduces time-delayed acoustical feedback into the equipment rack, thus smearing the sound a bit.

There is no Yes or No. Try all 3 approaches.

I use isolation platforms now with good results. Symposium Svelte Shelves to be exact.
