Reducing length of Rel T7 speaker leads to match mains

I have a pair of REL T7 connected as stereo in my analogue system. The manual says that the best position are behind the main speakers in the corner. The dealer I bought them from confirmed that and suggested 300mm from the corner walls. I have done some small changes and certainly the best sound seems to be close to that position.
The speaker leads are Neutrik Speakon. They are very long that would enable the speakers to nearly be put at the other end of the room. This is not going to happen in my set up.

Is there an advantage to the sound now to reduce the length of the Neutrik Speakon leads to the same length of the main speaker leads?

Thx, Bob
