I don't know anything about electrical theory (just look at how hard it was for me to "get it" when building a simple power at tweaks/diy) but I once hooked up my 2A3 flea amp monoblocks (2.5 watts) to my Definitive Technologies BP 2002 Bi-polar towers. They sounded great!

Of course if I cranked it up, the limits were reached quickly, but I kept them hooked up for a few days and no harm no foul to either amp or speaker.
