i appreciate it. i don't know why, but the forum will only let me upload one pic at a time. i like providing anyone that might give an answer to my questions with ALL of the relevant info so they don't have to go looking for it on their own just like i try to give posts detailed titles instead of vague "help me!" ones, or even worse, annoying bait and switches. i don't like wasting anyone's time, including my own.

it's all good. i've found the solution i was looking for to step up from that MCM that probably whispered at the bottom octave. the JBL should REALLY move some air going by its size and above average specs.

i just wasn't liking that 1.35Q and resonant peak with the VM. if JBL recommends that users don't use sealed boxes just .1 cubic foot larger than mine, then it should be tuned right in the extension end of the sweet spot. adding a mattress pad lining should put it even closer to the goldilocks zone.
