NEVER MIND, i'm going with a JBL GT5-15 instead

OK after doing more research on subs up to around the price of the VM Audio, it's looking like the JBL GT5-15 (at under $80 delivered) is an even better speaker for my application as, even though it will have a system Q of 1.154 in my 1.9 cubic foot box, THAT's exactly what JBL recommends with 1.75 cubic feet as a minimum and 2 as the maximum. either way, it's a lower Q than the VM, and after running the numbers, it would only have a slight resonance peak, but more importantly, it should have even MORE output at 20Hz than the VM combining their curves side by side. as an added bonus, it's a 4 ohm single coil which is perfect for the amp i'm using.

i'm NOT a fan of the logo on the dust cap or especially the exposed basket/gasket combo, but performanwise, it should destroy the MCM for both power handling and extension and maybe, with the higher Q, even snap a little tighter. anything else in the price range likely had a foam surround, or something else that turned me off like the skull logo of one brand. the hifonics brutus interested me a bit as i have already owned hifonics 12 inchers, but i couldn't find any thiele small parameters for them and passed.

the JBL gets good reviews at both amazon and sonicelectronix, and in theory, should be an easy re-sell when i upgrade my system both for the brand and its theoretical performance. someone should be happy to grab it for no more than $70 where beat up 12" JUNK that has silicone patches in recycled leaky boxes sells for more than that here and i intend to take care of mine.

that's a nice curve that extends deeper than anything else i've run the numbers on. looks like i found a "winner"

PREVIEW does NOT WORK other than to re-position ONE uploaded photo! the system won't let me upload a second photo and insteads opens that annoying "no can do" page. i'm going to have to go into edit mode to add a pic of the driver. there's no way around that ANNOYING dysfunctional busted clunkiness.
