My ATC SCM50ASLs were bought 1994 (remember Studio 99?) but have been upgraded with all of the changes since (hence they are SLs). In fact they are currently back at the factory having the new ATC manufactured tweeters fitted. They are from what is now called the "Classic" range which are, as you indicate, domesticated versions of the studio monitors, the difference being a nice wood finish instead of black paint.
