You didn't say why you want to replace the drivers.
If the foam surrounds are bad, I hope that you have considered replacing them. It's a cheap, easy way to get them sounding like new.
If you are trying to improve the midrange response, you are in for a bigger challenge. The Heil tweeter crossover frequency is 1200 to 1500Hz. You would need to find a 10" driver with a smooth response well past that range, and also compatible with the cabinet tuning.
With the design improvements to drivers over the last 30 years you should be able to find a better one. But the last time I tried putting different woofers in my ESS speakers I ended up going back to the refoamed originals. Good luck, and please report back on your progress.
