So, I am test listening to a set of Era D5 speakers and some questions have arisen, namely, what amp that I have be the best fit. Changing amps in the system is a real PITA so like to hedge my bets by asking the fine, educated folks here their thoughts and hoping of course that someone uses the same combo :)
Using them right now with my returned VOA tube amp of around 12wpc. Other amps I could use are..
1. Amherst A-1000....
2. Denon POA-1003
3. Adcom 545II
4. Pair of Marantz's MA6100 Mono Bloc's
While the tube amp sounds good I know dynamics are probably constricted because of the low power rating with the other bad thing it's hot and it's too hot outside and combine that with a tube pre and a tube dac and tube phono pre and it gets toasty toasty in my room. Great in the winter but not summer.
Thanks in advance!
