Well that depends what you mean, transformers normally add a spectrum of distortion which some find pleasurable.
An L pad inherently has no distortion of that kind AND provides a more constant load to the crossover circuit (who's behavior can change depending on the load impedance).
So, if one is genuinely concerned with which has the least alteration of the original signal, it would normally be the L-pad.
