RE: Active bi-amping on three way speakers

It has been my experience that individual speakers are all connected in parallel to the crossover system. Therefore, you should not need to install a resistor in place of any speaker. You should be able to simply disconnect the woofer and associated crossover components and drive the midrange and tweeter normally from the speaker binding posts using a full range amplifier. Then you can connect the woofer directly to another amplifier with an active low-pass crossover ahead of the amplifier.
