Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

RE: It's all about collecting

I really liked the AR3a back in the day provided it was fed enough power. Today, there are better speakers for $1200.

I owned a 2105 and a C28, bought new from the dealer in 1971. To this day I don't really know why I bought them (seduced by the meters and the blue lights???) but I soon tired of them and replaced them with Jim Bongiorno's GAS stuff. A definite sonic improvement.

All that said, I'd like to have a pair of very mint AR3a's today and feed them with lots of high end tube power just to see how they stack up against my notoriously poor sound memory ;-)
