SF Bay area Craigslist is notorious for some sellers that list items at prices that are ridiculous and never sell. Sometimes they look at prices of the same item on amazon which also can have insane prices for vintage or hard to find items but the same item on ebay under "sold" usually reflects a more rational price and true value. I recently bought a camera that someone listed on an east coast craigslist for 1/4 of what the exact same camera was listed for on SF Bay area Craigslist and fortunately the seller were willing to ship it to me after not getting any responses on it after a month. The prices for too many things (especially real estate)in the SF bay bubbleland are insane despite principles of supply and demand. If it weren't for the weather, it's ALL insane.
