RE: Why repair the wall?

Good point. There's no guarantee that the new owner will even want the existing speaker and so it may end up on Craigslist for $20 or in a dumpster.

On the other hand, it may be considered part of the property, since it's built-in, and so taking it out could be a sales contract violation. On the other hand, if the buyer hasn't heard it, and doesn't know if there's actually a speaker behind the grill or not, ...
