This speaker presents music with coherence. It gives you the whole not just the sum of its parts. Bass has good weight but not slam, midrange is textured and pure, highs are airy, the soundstage is deep and well layered and extends beyond the sides and front of the speakers, images have body and extend into the room. The Vandy 1C is a true overachiever and is completely at home with electronics 5 times its cost. At $800 with stands it is just a nutty bargain.
