Yes; when I first experienced that audiophile insight, my listening attitude changed soon thereafter when it comes to audio gear evaluation. I realized some truly Hi-End gear may manipulate or innocently favor some listening cue aspect of their design that provides notable "wow factor". The soundstage dimensions might seem huge, but the soundstage height might seem truncated rather than tall and airy. A less top-shelf component might present a remarkably smaller scale soundstage, but with better focus, and fully-formed imaging within the top end, and better 3D spatial cues from top to bottom.
