I find very little reason NOT to use pro drivers, they tend to have more headroom and lower distortion than most hifi drivers. Usually cheaper too.
Less bass extension though but that is of little importance for a mid.Unless you are married to the idea of 6.5" here is a decent modern 5" mid:
