Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

RE: Yes, But...

" Directivity is a link to both. A speaker that has a high directivity is more efficient (Horns, line sources, dipoles all have control over directivity. "

I got sensitivity and efficiceny mixed up but I was too lazy to fix the post. My bad.

" The "voicing" of the speaker is controlled by the overall sound power response and it's relatively "linearness" with frequency. not the initial direct wav arrival. Imaging is also a factor in there as the initial reflections have a major effect on timber and imaging. "

I agree with everything you stated.
