Efficiency/inefficiency is useful for matching up your system. Are you going "gain" any advantage with one over the other - not likely. Better matching will give you more of a gain.
I've tried some high efficiency drivers. Nice but for various reasons after a while they left me wanting something else.
I would "classify" them as a taster or preference. They also tend to come in different categories like high efficiency drivers, full range single drivers, horns. You either love them or don't.
If you can get your hands on some they do try them.
