I bought my Audio Note J/Spe back in 2003 after a decade of trying most of the major lines. I became a reviewer and 6 years later and having moved to Hong Kong and hearing most of the minor lines as well - I ended up buying the AN J's bigger brother in the AN E (and really only to be slightly different in not buying the exact same thing twice).
Back in 2003 I bought the AN K/Spe - my runner up FWIW was the Reference 3a MM De Capo!! A mighty enjoyable speaker. Personally I preferred those versions without the BE tweeter.
