Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

I had a similar problem hearing the 18KHz whine of oscilloscopes

and I used to get headaches. I can't hear that high anymore so being stuffed in a room full of them wouldn't bother me anymore. I understand being able to hear high frequencies that others can't. I'm having a difficult time understanding that the make up of a tweeter would impart different spectral characteristics. I would like to see a Fourier Analysis done on different tweeter of different compositions being fed a frequency sweep from 3KHz and up measuring the output to see if there is a difference in the spectral content.

I'm curious if you would get a headache if you sat and listened to them for a while.
