A few weeks ago, I listened to them powered by Mcintosh's MC601 amps, and corresponding preamp and cd player. This is what I posted on the AVS forum;
I found the treble to be lovely. Very nice.
The mid range seemed a little less dry and characterless than the previous model. On a recording that I know pretty well, it revealed some "realistic" detail to the piano that I don't hear on my secondary system at home. On the other hand, I was still left with the impression that the B&W speakers give me; mainly that they are clear and revealing, but not what I would call "musical".
I install B&W, Meridian, PMC and JBL Synthesis gear for a living, and listen to vintage tube and solid state gear at home. My middle-aged ears and prejudices have to be taken into account.
