RE: Harbeth SHL 5 Plus, room size?

I have a pair of regular SHL5's in a 13x11x8 back room, drywall and carpeted suspended floor. By all rights it should sound terrible, and initial placement WAS very unacceptably boomy. But after a little placement adjustment, they sounded wonderful; a little fatter-sounding than Compact 7's in the same room but in a good way. Bottom line is, you just never know. Yes, my room is probably a bit more "lossy", but your room should be fine, and by all means experiment with placement if suboptimal at first.
Also, in MY experience, Harbeths seem to like shorter listening distances, maybe a relic of their BBC monitor heritage. As always, YMMV.
