With the little bit I heard it was good, impressive bass, but that's pretty much synonomus with Dynaudio. 1.4le had the Dyn sound, the background more dark opposed to airy, just a nice sound.
I did hear a $4500.00 Atohm in comparison, same system. The Atohm didn't have the bottom end of the 1.4le but presented more of an open sound with details being more vivid or easier to hear. I have to say the little Atohm was impressive. My only concern would be whether the extra emphasis in piano, cymbals etc. would be fatiguing over time or with the wrong equipment.
I also wouldn't recommend Dyn's with a system leaning too warm or laid back. Well, with that being said I drove a set of 2.5t's with Conrad Johnson for quite a while.
