Several years ago I had the Spendor S5e, the predecessor of the A5R. It was about the same size. It was an excellent speaker, but, yes, the "image" it presented the listener was down lower than more audiophiles are used to. However, I have often been at live concerts where, either due to being in the balcony seating or on the main floor where the seat level rises as you move away from the stage, the effect is the same.

I could see the relative shortness of the speaker bothering some while a non-issue for others.
