I bought ZVOX 220 and connected to the TV. Remote has buttons to bring the voice forward, for surround effect and Bass and Treble all of which worked well. It played loud too. The mute button came in handy during 'debates'. I thought after couple of weeks that I did not quite need it with the TV. Most of the programs deserved underplaying. Even the DVDs did not need the HT effect in my room.
So, I took it to my bedroom and connected it to the PC. As a nearfield speaker in a small room it sounded very good, very clear and detailed, especially classical music. Led Zep sounded confused. Female voices sounded like the women had a touch of cold. The Bass was a little muddled and stretched.
I went back to my good old Tivoli and difference in quality was immediately apparent. The Tivoli was musical. The female voices are outstanding and even the little bass is defined. It is musical to say the least.
I paid $150 for the ZVOX and $120 a few years ago for the Tivoli with the FM. As I keep telling my friends, if only they had a bigger Tivoli speaker!
Cheers
Bill
