Just pinch the grill cloth near the corner of the frame and tug.
Once removed/replaced a few times its easy - though personally, with both the C7es3 and M30.1 I've owned, I think they (usually) sound more neutral/natural with the grills in place.Having said that, a lot will depend on the individual ears of the listener and room acoustics/furnishings. If a room has heavy drapes and lots of soft furnishings then highs will often be disproportionately absorbed compared to the rest of the spectrum. Grills off might redress this imbalance somewhat.
