Notice how in his discussion of the Makr II vs Mark III version there was a bit about "simplified the xover". Take it out, means making the xover no longer simplified.
Resonant FS magnitude is the issue.
And for all those people taking it out and "its better", is just most likely "its different" and has more distortion (2nd/3rd most likely).
