RE: Vandersteen 2

Just a note on earlier Vandy 2c/2ce and some ci's Richard apparently had added an 8 ohm resister across the rear firing woofer. Why I am not sure, but this was in the era when Adcom and Nakamichi solid state amps dominated, and they were quite bright. The resistor pulled down the highs and warmed up the sound and balanced early solid state amps quite nicely.

Modern gear is much more balanced and if you simply remove that resister the speake is not only better balanced, but more efficient ( does no apply to 1's and other models, and no I haven't examined the 3's)
