RE: Why do speakers crackle

Nothing wise guy intended.?
You addressed me with answers to a question I never asked.

{****"430 cruz.
After more than 45 years of speaker repair, PA and domestic HiFi ......
1. Burned voicecoil, charcoaled carrier, charcoaled glue/isolation voicecoil.
2. Defective voicecoil because of scraping due to misaligning.
3. Tears in surrounds, hardening surrounds, rotting surrounds, foam surrounds made for 5 years, therafter deterioration. Always protect from sunlight.
4. Force of voicecoil must be excactly perpendicular to the cone, if not because of misaligning conebreakup starts early in a very unpredictable way, more distortion, listening fatigue.

Don't hassle with tone generators or that kind of things, just settle for the fact that cone loudspeakers, cheap or expensive only last for a few years, certainly with foam surrounds. Depending on how loud you play the cone gets tired just like metal breaks after continues bending, altering the sound and impulse respons.
Only powerup your loudspeaker for 10% of the max. ratings, those ratings are for very shortterm powerdissipation. Don't trust so called vintage speakers, they are most of the time damaged, aligning and voicecoil assembly.

I saw so many disappointed faces, even from people with expensive high end loudspeakers, so now you know, loudspeakers are like cars, made for "a few years" without trouble."****}

I never stated or asked any questions that relate to this post of yours but TimeConstant did.
I merely directed your post to TimeConstant,
And this is your response to a redirect?

{****"430cruz,

Please read all post's first before asking those wiseguy redundant annoying questions.
It happens all the time that inmates post a reply without reading the post's first, annoying."****}

Your right, people make mistakes.^^^
