RE: Are Cornwalls Still Current?

IMHO I believe there are many speakers better than any of the Cornwalls, modded or stock, original or new. I use to sell them some years ago. Old ones would get traded in at times. Always a fun speaker to play with. I found them very fatiguing after short periods of time. Problem is finding speakers that size with the same efficiency in the same price range. You may be surprised at the sound you can get out of some smaller 2 way speakers with low powered tube amps. I drove B&W 705's with my modded Dynaco ST -70. Sounded really good in the upper bass, mids and highs.

Don't believe I'm wrong is saying the Cornwall drivers are just basic off the shelf PA loudspeaker drivers. Same you will find in speakers designed for professional environments, concerts....ect Cabinet construction is basic, not horrible, not great.

Some people love the sound, some hate it. Same with every speaker I suppose. As long as you like them, it's all that matters.
