RE: Who makes "white van speakers"?

I went into a pawn shop a few years ago and noticed there weren't any white van speakers there. This is unusual, at least around here. I asked a guy working there and he said he recognizes them and doesn't buy them. He said they are typically assembled from kits that are imported from cheap labor countries. It explains why I've seen several accounts of people taking them apart and finding the crossover isn't hooked up, or there isn't one, or not all of the drivers are connected.
