I have the sevens. Love them and felt that these speakers are not that sensitive to room placement. I've liked them in several spots and I point them straight ahead, not towards the listener as suggested. I like a less direct sound, slightly more diffuse, but found not great a difference in soundstaging between the two. Sandy Gross himself suggested I turn the towards the listener, but I found I prefer them my way. Each to his own.
Golden Ear apparently showed their newest model, the Triton Five, a cross between the one and seven in some ways, except there is no subwoofer in the five. Coming out in April for $2000. Good luck with yours.
