After YEARS of having to deal with boomy, undefined bass coming from my left and right corners (not that deep into the corners, but still)placed subwoofers, I finally decided to go against domestic considerations and try the recommended two-subs placement, wich is on the side walls, facing eachother, about half of the room lenght. I must say this pressurises the room in a much more uniform manner without sounding weak or requiring loads of boost from the sub amplifiers. Response seems more even and smooth, and low bass doesn't seem to "roll" and "rumble" as much as it used to do.
Despite the fact that the subs are now seated at the level of my left and right ears, once phase and level are properly set, all the bass seems to come from the main speakers.
I would highly recommend this placement to anyone experiencing boomy bass with two subs.
