Restoration of Dynaco A25s

I have just inherited a pair of Dynaco A25s I used to own back in the 1970s. The former owner had altered them, by removing the tweeter control and also the vent/port fibreglass. I initially tried them out and found the bass end somewhat prominent, almost excessive. After removing the bass/mid. driver from one speaker I discovered just the 5uf capacitor in place, nothing else.
A friend, who is involved in loudspeaker design, suggested I put 10 ohm resistors in the -ve side of the tweeter feeds, which I have done.
For the ports, some fibreglass was obtained along with plastic grille material to hold it in place.
I was now ready to try out the A25s. I was immediately taken with how good they sounded. The bass end was now 'in balance' with the mid. and top end. The amount of detail revealed in the music was surprising. After some extended listening I am very pleased with the results of restoring the speakers. With a coat of wood stain and wax polish they look good, too. A pair of Dynaco badges have been ordered to finish things off.
