Recently sold my PMC PB1i floor standers. Great speakers but to big for my current space. As I await another set of PMCs in a more manageable size to come up on the used market I decided to get some monitors to prevent withdrawals . Picked up A used pair of the above Sonus Faber's with stands. Many rave reviews which I usually take with a few grains of salt. Especially Bob Riena of Sterophile who gave a pandering estimation the the Monitor Audio RS-6s that I found lacking.
They arrived yesterday and I must say I've been pleasantly surprised. Great sound stage, well balanced and the bass is decent for their size. Of course they are miles away from the 24 thundering hertz of PMCs transmission line bass but they have made the wait on a new set or PMCs less painful. Definitely prefer them to the Cremonas I had several years ago.
Current set-up is a Rogue Metis Magnum preamp, Rotel RB-1090 amp, NAD 1050 DAC. Sources are Sonos and a Rotel RCD-1072 CD player.
They are made in China, or what SVS speakers call P.R.C., yet finish and quality are quite nice. No twenty stage violin finish requiring months of completion but those finishes usually have no bearing on sound. They look slick in the piano black lacquer finish with glass top and stand base
