I think people really shoudl try and explore the new Cerwin Vega which was bought out several years back and dramatically improved - not as sensitive as the old models but overall cleaner sounding and more refined.

For $999 a pair (more now but probably in the $1500 ballpark) if one has the space and Rock is the main listening thing I would at least give these a long look. Soundstage measured them and they chose it as best budget speaker. The things however are BIIIIG. But then at least you feel you're getting something for the money.
