You can't know what "the best" speaker is, for you, until you've heard a number of speakers in an environment similar to the one you live in. There are likely a number of contenders in the $1500 price category and if you can't audition them all under real world conditions you must rely on blind luck, as so many of us undoubtedly have done. Choose one, and pray that you'll get lucky. Or, choose several pairs (as mbnx01 has obviously done) and start walking and crawling down the path to true knowledge - the famed and fabled "old dirt road"...
