Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

RE: Irrelevant

Not really. We're only talking about a foot or less, which is about 1 millisecond. If it turns out that you're getting too much center channel for your taste, just turn the center down a couple dB and things will fall back into balance. It's important to remember that we're trying to solve/reduce a greater problem - the lack of spaciousness and the need to sit in a particular position. Opening up your triangle will help to accomplish that.

Edit: You might want to consider toeing in your speakers even a little more. This will help to reduce the tendency of the sound to "pull toward" the closer speaker.

:)
