I am not sure what you mean by it pairs with your receiver. If you want more slam for your money check out the BIC America F12 for under $200. The challenge with the Yamaha is that it's a small driver <7" in a small cabinet.
There are other Yamaha subwoofers as well that might give you more for your money. Are you size limited in your selection?
