And, when you think about it, "hearsay" is what this forum is about much of the time.You suggested buying pair of Harbeths on ebay. Is he/she going to be able to audition a pair of Harbeths like those ones before making a purchase? Maybe, maybe not. You have to be willing to take some chances in this game, sometimes.
To me, asking the OP to take your word on the Harbeths is no different than asking the OP to take the word of a pro reviewer like Doug Schroeder on the JM Reynauds. Schroeder say the Reynauds kick ass - maybe that's true and maybe it isn't.
