Braxus,I only have experience with Paradigm speakers and B&W in the context of dealer room demos over the years. If you like the B&W sound, as I do, I believe you would also like what the Ref Studio 20 sounds like.

They are very dynamic, clear and, crisp with good tone. In my experience they share those aspects with B&W. To my ears the Paradigms push the sound forward where the B&Ws tend not to push it forward as much.

I definitely don't think you'll find the Studio 20s dark or closed in. Hope you fimd the right speaker for you. Good luck.
