RE: Those were my first "real" speakers!

Same here! (In 1972.) With a used Scott integrated (EL 84) and Perpetuum Ebner TT. I think I may have wound up with my current speakers (Tannoy Turnberry) partly because they look like a bigger version of them. May need to undergo hypnosis to find out for sure.
