A pair of active monitors eliminates two speaker cords. It uses the same number of power cords as passive monitors with monoblock amplifiers for a net saving of two cords. If a stereo amplifier is used there is still a net saving of one cord.
In my case, my active monitors are tri-amplified. Were I to do that with passives there would be many power power and signal cords.
