Congrats on getting a setup that pleases you. I really like the sound KEF is getting these days with their smaller speakers. Digital speakers aren't really for me because I would want to be able to support vinyl as an option but I can't argue with their design. Many will find it perfect and very steamlined.
I think powered speakers have tons of utility. Most are aware of their use as PC speakers with a DAC. One of the most impressive HT setups I heard used a AV preamp feeding powered speakers for all channels, including twin subwoofers (also powered). Using them is also ideal for small rooms or to simplify the setup and reduce cords.
I'll still cling to separates for critical listening but I'll admit much of that reasoning is "playing" with and swapping components as part of the hobby. You really can get amazing sound from the better powered speakers these days. My PC at home uses Emotiva powered monitors and the DragonFly DAC. It sounds great.
