Well, I met a couple of higher-end audiophiles who didn't think my Dynaudio active monitors were providing sound quality commensurate with the rest of my equipment. After listening to their systems I had to agree. One of them lent me an old pair of B&W 805 Matrix speakers with an amplifier to audition for a couple of weeks and I came away from that experience thinking the B&W's sounded a little better than the Dynaudio's. Then I went on a tour of the Thiel factory and heard the CS3.7's. I was basically blown away with their sound and when they offered me a deal I couldn't refuse on a pair of B-stock speakers I decided to splurge. Now, my system is competitive with any system I've heard.
The little Dynaudio's are excellent speakers for their size and price, but when I decided to spend a lot more money, I got much better performance. The Thiel CS3.7's are some of the best sounding speakers I've ever heard and certainly the best sounding speakers I've ever owned. I just hope I don't wear them out because I play them several hours every day. I don't believe I've ever enjoyed my system more than I do now with the Thiel CS3.7's. They do everything right as far as I can tell. Have you ever heard them?
Best regards,
John Elison
