The recommendation for powered speakers is a good one. You'll get better value, even if they initially cost a bit more.
You want to get away from this "bargain basement" bottom-end gear and step up to at least Behringer level gear. Even better if you can save up a bit or get financing and get a level above Behringer as well.
The main questions are:
a) what kind of sound quality do you want
b) how robust does this gear need to be electronically
c) how robust does this gear need to be physically
d) If you're doing a paid show, are gear failures acceptable*
*Are you going to be working towards a local reputation? Can you afford to have an amp fail at a show and say "Sorry folks. No more music!"? The level of gear you're buying there... it's all made-in-China bottom price point stuff, and very often that stuff, despite being the cheapest, doesn't represent the best value. For example, I caution guys against using lower-end gear or unreliable / old gear if they're doing weddings. There is one event where you don't want a gear failure it's at a wedding - if you want to meet Bridezilla, have your rig crap out 20 minutes into the dance portion of the wedding before you got a chance to spin the Bird Dance or the Ketchup Song... yikes.
Anyways, I look at gear as an investment. If you're building a reputation for paid shows, I'd factor that in to the value aspect. The gear you referenced is dressed up as "professional" gear, but in truth... it's really not.
Cheers,
Presto
