Well,
I bought a pair of Definitive Tech SM45's bookshelf speakers on sale for $140 each. Big bass...more bass heavy than my A100's ! Although too bomy and lacked mids IMHO.

I then played the same song to a game trailer and these speakers made the same horrible sound. Played it through the power amp portion of a Marantz (I've been using the pre-amp section to drive the ST-35)...rather than the ST-35)...same sound. So its the recording...or the pre-amp.

I'm taking the Definitive's back as the A100's had more mids/ better strings and clarity. I'm not going to knock the Def's though...good sound for their size and money.




Normality frightens me- its what they use to lure you into the cookie cutter.
