Hey, I agree with you that I don't like the anti-theft crap prevalent in the video biz these days. Their (FOX's) paranoia almost killed the format in the beginning when they emcoded anti-theft protection onto the disc and the machines would play them. We had to constantly wait for firmware updates from the manufacturers. PITA.
Did they give up on that? I haven't updated the firmware on my Oppo in a good 5 years, and haven't had a problem. Did Fox and Sony suddenly grow a brain between them? Just curious.
