They have a $350-$400 speaker in the AX One - I wasn't a fan of the old one but only heard it once. I also don't know what the drivers are mad out of.
SS won't be a problem because their copper wired and apparently sold as all rounders. Still, I would say they're better with SET or Tubes or "soft" SS - lower DF - lower feedback types.
But they sound really nice with Trends Audio Class T amps - under $200. Good sound can be had on the cheap - just have to turn over the rocks to find it.
